World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Upgrades to an item are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats. The average level of the item is listed on the character sheet. The level of an item can help players compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it is capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done using the item level. On your PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat. There are many theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is typically close to the actual Blizzard item level. It's not the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances. Item Stats The stats of an item are a major element in what makes or breaks an item for players. All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window, pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other rerolling methods. In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats they want to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat in the same range, unless it's a unique item, or a God Roll from a boss in a raid. Item Luck The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous in the early game, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains. Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. They can also be enhanced by using anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing. Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140. item upgrade , like the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by five percent. These items are available in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients. Item Failure Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items which allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%. The Luck of an item may influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25 percent, and every item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent. The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This may cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
